Initial Setup

The GSkill TridentX F3-1600C7Q-32GTX sticks are 53.51mm tall.


However, you can remove a screw or two to slide the red "fin" off, and the G.Skill TridentX F3-1600C7Q-32GTX sticks are suddenly about 14mm shorter, which allows them to fit under most large heatsinks.


This reduces the stick to a height of 39.54mm, which is just a tad bit taller than a normal DIMM.

Installed into my ASUS MAXIMUS VI EXTREME, the sticks look great, matching the color scheme perfectly.


I love the way these sticks look from the side, where their physical design matches the TridentX name. A solid red mass next to the CPU cooler, there is a stick for every DIMM slot on Intel Z87-based motherboards.
