The Black Edition CPU cooler certainly has a nice appearance. GELID Solutions did a great job of coming up with a good-looking cooler that can match most systems. It is, at the same time, oddly unique due to the Slim fan at the front and the option of adding a third fan. The black plastic covering the top of the cooler and its heatpipes is also a nice touch that keeps the look uniform and clean.
Again, the simple appearance is in nice contrast to many air coolers becoming increasingly gaudy with mixed and matched colors. The Black Edition's understated look has a nice aesthetic. However, memory clearance on other platforms could, as seen in the image above, be problematic with anything other than generic memory.
The images above give a better look at memory clearance. It is a non-issue for Intel LGA2011 systems, with the cooler as shipped in the box offering the ability to install almost any size of memory without much of an issue, but users on other sockets may not be so lucky. That said, memory clearance shouldn't be much of an issue with only two DIMMs.
