A Closer Look

The IS-60 EVO ARGB is a top-flow design directing airflow down towards the CPU, where it then dissipates outwards, which helps cool surrounding components. In order to improve motherboard compatibility, a slight cutout on the left side of the heatsink is used for better VRM clearance. When it comes to mounting the fans, a metal bracket is preinstalled, which makes things quick and easy and a lot less finicky compared to fan clips.

Rather than press-fitting the aluminium fins onto the heatpipes, ID-Cooling soldered the fins to the heatpipes for improved thermal transfer.

The mounting plates for the fans hide the bare aluminium fins and are held on via two small screws. The heatpipes are arranged in a single U-shape going from the base and up through fin stack. In regards to the copper base, it is nickel-plated, and while it does have a decent level of polish, machining marks are readily visible; still, compared to many coolers in this price range, the base finish is above average.

The fans are unique as they vary in size and RPM. ARGB lighting is provided by the 120 mm ID-12015M12S, which has an RPM range of 500–2000 and a maximum CFM of 54.6. In regards to the 92 mm fan, it does not offer ARGB lighting as it's relatively hidden. That said, it has an RPM range of 600–2500 and a maximum CFM of 44.3. It should also be noted that the two fans are not traditional offerings; instead, they are both slim designs that have a thickness of 15 mm compared to the more traditional 25 mm.
