ID-Cooling's orange and black boxes will certainly grab your attention if on a store shelf. Front and center, both boxes display the 92 mm tower cooler, showing off the heatsink's overall design, and in the case of the ARGB variant, the illuminated top plate and fan. It should be noted that the SE 914 XT ARGB does support ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, and ASRock motherboard sync software solutions. Looking at the left side, the packaging notes the cooler's various features, including its universal mounting hardware, 92 mm design, PWM functionality, and more. The backside is where the more detailed specifications can be found. The SE 914 XT Basic is a bit shorter than the SE 914 XT ARGB. To be fair, that should be expected as ARGB lighting does take up space. In regards to the Basic model, it tops out at 126 mm while the ARGB offering is 131 mm. Otherwise, the fan RPM and CFM ratings are the same.
The right side of the box lists the rated TDP of 150 watts and the various supported sockets. Finally, the top just has the product name and its designation as either the Basic or ARGB version.

ID-Cooling continues to make me happy when it comes to the internal packaging as they opted for foam over cardboard. Part of buying a product isn't just what you got, but knowing it will arrive safely, and I personally have had much better luck when manufacturers use foam inserts.
When it comes to the mounting hardware, its universal design keeps things simple, and this should make for an easy installation. The design is all metal as well, which feels much sturdier than typical plastic backplates and pushpin designs seen in the past. Both coolers use the same hardware, and both come with extra fan clips, giving users the option of adding a second fan if they wish. The only difference is the ARGB model has extra cabling and a controller included, so regardless of the motherboard, users can control the ARGB lighting.
