Along with their Portable Monitor N2F, which I've covered in a recent article, INNOCN sent me their more ambitious 27-inch 4K IPS monitor. The INNOCN 27C1U officially launches in the United States today, so what better time to review it, after I've used it for over a month. INNOCN was kind enough to provide a discount code for TechPowerUp readers. It lowers the price of the monitor a cool $176; should you be looking to buy it, please look for the discount code in the conclusion of this review.
With its 27-inch 4K IPS panel, a highly adjustable stand, USB-C port that can deliver up to 65 W of power to a connected device, picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture viewing modes, and extra features, such as the Gravity Sensor that automatically rotates the picture when the screen is pivoted, the INNOCN 27C1U is a productivity monitor more than anything else. Its panel offers a good amount of screen real estate accompanied by a high pixel density of 163 PPI, which translates into fantastic sharpness. Each unit is supplied with a color calibration report, promising an average ΔE below 2 and a 96% DCI-P3 color gamut. If that turns out to be true, the INNOCN 27C1U can be considered for the most demanding tasks, such as video and photo editing. Let's dig in to find out if all these bold claims hold up in practice.
