Jackery Explorer 300 - A Closer Look

Out of the box, the Jackery Explorer 300 has that classic boxed shape of most packs, but with rounded corners and a single, solid handle on top. Naturally, there is lots of orange and a large company logo on the top of the unit. The main side of the pack holds all the inputs and outputs, while the opposite side is completely solid with just the unit's serial number etched into it.

Both smaller sides have orange panels with vents to give the internal components some thermal breathing room. Unlike the larger packs from Jackery, the Explorer 300 does not feature a flash light, which is unfortunate considering its compact size and thus higher portability. On the underside are four orange rubber pads and the mandatory product sticker, which bridges the two sides of the hard plastic enclosure of the Jackery Explorer 300.

The Explorer 300 weighs just over 3.3 kg, which makes it easy to carry around and the perfect size for casual weekend campers, for example.

The main method of charging comes in form of the PSU or solar panel. Both use the same singular input on the Jackery Explorer 300. Considering that the PSU with its 90 W and the SolarSaga 100 with its 100 W capability are quite similar while maximizing the battery pack's 90 W input, it makes sense that you cannot combine them. To the right of this are three USB ports, with the top one USB-C with bi-directional charging capabilities. This means you could use your notebook charger in a pinch, which is a nice addition the bigger Jackery units don't actually have. On the far right, the Explorer 300 has two AC sockets that can deliver up to 300 W of pure sine-wave 110 V output for our small appliances on the road.

In the top is a simple but instantly available display which comes with a white backlight. It provides the core data of power input, output, and current charge levels. Out of the box, this Jackery Explorer 300 had a partial charge of 49%. Lastly, there is the 12 V, 10 A cigarette lighter plug for some marine-centric fridges, among other appliances.
