A Closer Look - Inside

To gain access to the interior, simply remove the thumbscrews holding each side panel in place. The interior is black for a nice bit of contrast with the exterior. The layout is quite unique as the PSU bay is in the top half of the front - but more about that a bit later. There are a few rubber grommets that cover holes which are for cable management, alongside some cable hooks. There is very little space between the motherboard tray and glass side panel, so you had better watch your cable management during assembly. You will also find two 2.5" hard-drive mounting possibilities on the motherboard tray.

There is a huge badge at the front, and I initially thought it would light up once the system is turned on, but it is just there for show. Considering the UMX4's understated look, it should be a bit less prominent as well. The good thing is that you could switch it out for any ornament of your own making. Below that are two spots for two SSDs. As the top spot needs to be pushed up to lock into place, gravity may pry it down during transportation.

Besides the four 2.5" drives, the UMX4 offers two bays for 3.5" variants. This brings the total drive bay count to six, which is a good number for a chassis of this size. Above that is the PSU bay. Due to the construction, you will not be able to use super long variants within the chassis. However, there is enough space for most traditional high-end units to fit. Just don't expect to cram a 1500 W unit into this enclosure.

The seven expansion slot covers are held in place by a single piece of aluminum, which is in turn secured by a single screw. Above that is the aforementioned 120 mm fan with white blades and a black frame.

You will find the two additional 120 mm fans in the ceiling, bringing the number of cooling units inside the UMX4 to a healthy three in total. You may also install a radiator here, but have to watch for whether it would interfere with the heatsink or components on your motherboard. You may also install two additional 120 mm fans into the floor of the chassis. There is a simple metal-mesh filter to keep the larger dust particles out of the chassis.

All the cables inside the Jonsbo UMX4 are sleeved black and of the default variety. The extra plug is there to route the PSU's power plug from the front to the rear of the chassis. It is quite compact and angled.
