The KTC H27T22 is quite successful in what it tries to do: to be an affordable yet capable gaming monitor. For $250, you're getting a 27-inch 2560x1440 Fast IPS panel with a native 165 Hz refresh rate, achievable without any form of panel "overclocking." The monitor has low input lag, FreeSync and G-SYNC support, excellent motion handling, and even some useful gaming-oriented features, such as virtual crosshairs and a built-in framerate counter. In short, everything you might need to get an enjoyable gaming experience on a budget is present.
Aside from its gaming prowess, another commendable aspect of the KTC H27T22 is its adjustability. The supplied base and stand allow you to adjust the screen by height, tilt, swivel, and even pivot in both directions. Such flexibility usually comes with more expensive monitors and is regularly skimped on budget-friendly models.
Although nobody will be buying the KTC H27T22 for color-critical work, it's worth noting that the monitor offers good picture quality out of the box, with some gamma and color uniformity issues preventing it from moving from good to great. The gamma and color accuracy can be brought to an excellent level by calibrating the monitor. Still, there's little you can do about the less-than-ideal color uniformity in both bottom angles of the panel. This shouldn't worry you if you're buying the HTC H27T22 for gaming and/or everyday work, which this monitor is intended for, so I don't see it as a dealbreaker.
There are more things to be liked about this monitor, such as its well-organized OSD and the 4-way joystick used to navigate it, and the existence of a USB port used for firmware upgrades. While I'm not a fan of the integrated RGB lighting system, on the grounds of it being completely useless, that's only a minor quibble. As a whole, the KTC H27T22 strikes me as a smart buy; for $250, you're getting everything a gamer could hope for - and more.
