Packaging and Accessories

Xzibit must have designed the packaging for the LETSHUOER EJ07M since there's packaging inside packaging. The outer box comes in a bubble wrap for added protection from zealous couriers and is a beige cardboard box with the new LETSHUOER logo as well as a marketing tagline on the front—don't ask me what "Impulse the Emotion" means, I can only hope the Mandarin version makes more sense. A sticker on the side confirms the EJ07M is inside, and there are tear-away strips on the top or bottom for access to the product box itself.

The product box is from when LETSHUOER was still Shuoer Acoustic, which might be why we had that outer box seen earlier. This box is much more colorful and detailed, and sports the older logo on the front to go with a render of the EJ07M and other salient features. On the back, some more renders identify the cable connectors for each side, printed specifications for the IEMs, a factory-rated frequency response plot, which is nice to see, contact information for the company, and another marketing blurb filled with poor English. I wish LETSHUOER would have just kept it simple here! A seal on the bottom keeps the contents in place on their way to you, and removing it allows the outer cover to slide off the third unboxing layer. This time, we get a simpler black cardboard box that opens up from the bottom to reveal a wax paper layer with all other items below, including a warranty guide and booklet going over the myriad of customization options for the custom IEM route, an example video of which can be seen here.

The box is clearly larger than practically necessary, with the various items only taking up a small fraction of the space inside. The IEMs especially are surrounded by seas of soft foam on five sides, with machined cutouts to hold them snugly in place. At the top is more foam, with the left side containing three types of ear tips either placed as-is into the foam or inside a plastic carry case for the ear tips. LETSHUOER includes one type of memory foam tips and two types of silicone tips, all three in sizes S/M/L for a total of nine sets to choose from. The two silicone tips differ more in flange rigidity than form factor, and are visually quite different, too.

I am a big fan of the carry/storage case that comes with the EJ07M, with LETSHUOER going with a solid metal puck rather than the usual faux leather, stitched box. It's quite smooth all around the cylindrical geometry and even comes with no visible branding in use. A rubber ring on the bottom prevents the case from sliding on the resting surface and scratching when upright, and it is here that the Shuoer brand makes a showing. The lid unscrews to reveal the final set of accessories, including the cable inside a plastic wrap and cleaning brush for the IEMs. There is a soft liner on the inside, and plenty of room for the IEMs with the cable and extra ear tips too, with the lid having enough threads to tighten back in place.
