Lian Li sells the UNI FAN P28 in individual or triple-pack SKUs and I have the latter here which comes in a larger box as expected. It also underwent some extra love from the courier so I suppose this also shows the box does its job in protecting the items inside fairly well. On the front is the brand logo and product name, a confirmation of the fan size and color, a teaser of the fans themselves and some salient marketing features. More info is seen on the back including fan specs and a list of contents. There's not a lot going on the sides so at this point open the box from the top as seen above.


The 3-pack version comes with an extra fan controller but you should otherwise expect the unboxing experience to be fairly similar if you go with individual fans. This includes a manual (online copy here for 3-pack SKU) which is somewhat confusing but at least has illustrations to help you figure out what the various cables do. This is good because Lian Li has proprietary connectors again, especially on the cable that connects to the fan itself. One end has the usual 4-pin PWM connector but then we get something which looks like the same connector opened up and having a lid at a right angle. Lian Li also includes here a male-female 4-pin PWM extension cable with the aforementioned fan controller module in the middle that has three settings of L/M/H. We then get a second extension cable except this one uses the UNI FAN magnetic pins to connect two groups of such fans together as we will see on the next page. The fans themselves come individually packed in a bubble wrap pouch and there are three sets of four metal self-tapping screws in the box too.
