Software

The MX518 includes a software called "SetPoint" to bind the buttons on the mouse for Windows use. The software also controls general mouse settings, and settings specific to the MX518.

The first screen is the button set screen. Here you can set the buttons to do things such as keystrokes, scrolling, and more. The two buttons either side of the scroll wheel can be set as other buttons besides sensitivity. This may be good for some people who prefer to do more with the mouse in games, than on the keyboard.

The next screen is for pointer speed, pointer acceleration, smart move, and the visual effect of pointer trail. All these settings are for the pointer. From visual effects to the pointer's behavior.

The last screen in SetPoint is the Mouse Game Settings. This screen is for game detection to load settings for games. These settings can be anything from sensitivity, to even selecting between different mice if you use more than one.

When you click "Advanced Game Settings..." you get this screen. it is mainly for setting the DPI/Sensitivity of the mouse. Other settings allow you to define what kind of games will load the mouse settings. The DPI of the mouse can be set to other settings besides the 1600, 800, and 400 that the sensitivity button can change. Here you can fine-tune the sensitivity to your likeing.
