Introduction

The MSI MPG B850I Edge Ti Wi-Fi is one of four current gen Mini-ITX boards the company now offers to those that prefer smaller PCs. This means MSI joins ASUS and Gigabyte in offering both mid-range and high-end chipset Mini-ITX boards for both Intel and AMD sockets, while ASRock lacks only a premium AMD offering, ticking three of those four boxes.

This means there's more choice than ever when it comes to picking a board for your Mini-ITX rig, although MSI is admittedly late to the party given the competition has been available nearly as long as Intel and AMD's current sockets. At $250, though, it's well-priced, with Gigabyte and ASUS equivalents retailing for $10 and $50 more respectively, while ASRock's option comes in at $40 less.



Of course, the big talking point will be its actively-cooled M.2 heatsink, whether it's effective at cooling the latest SSDs and of course whether it's noisy or even needed at all. We also have MSI's EZ Conn connector, giving the board an impressive four fan headers, but to reach a lower price point, USB4 has been ditched.
