MSI Pulse GL66 Review

Apps and More

MSI bundles several apps with the Pulse GL66. MSI's App player, which allows you to play mobile games on your desktop, is of course present on a gaming laptop.

MSI's new addition of MSI Center, a singular app with a huge variety of hardware and software controls all within one space, is a welcome addition. MSI Center's slick appearance and overall ease of use make it a handy tool for laptop users wanting to get the most out of their system as they use it throughout the day. It opens up to a monitoring page with a list of what's going on with your system down the right edge. A few clicks to another tab and it ties in update features to keep both your drivers and BIOS up to date.

The General Settings tab is where you find software switches for hardware features, like moving around the Windows key or disabling the camera. The Feature Sets tab lets you add other modules, update modules, or remove them.

One of those modules helps you recover your system while another allows you do adjust the RGB keyboard's functions.

User Scenario is the most used part of all, meant for adjusting power profiles with a simple click, which can also be done using the FN and F7 buttons.

I also found copies of Music Maker Jam and Norton Life Shield installed.
