There are six fan headers in total on the MSI Z270 GAMING PRO CARBON, all of which are of the 4-pin variety. Their control is provided by the Nuvoton NCT6795D-M pictured above.
The BIOS-level controls are provided by this chip, and how MSI has implemented the controls is pretty good. Each header has independent controls and is capable of manual or automatic fan curves, as well as a manually chosen flat percentage.
