A Closer Look at the Seat's Base
The seat's base is 52 cm (20.47") wide and 55 cm (21.65") deep. However, due to the raised flaps, the contact area is shrunk down to 35 cm (13.78"), and its respective depth also shrinks down to 50 cm (19.69"). Since the raised edges are slightly contoured, users may still use the entire seat's base and not just a part of it, as is the case with other chair products. Thus, the Hero still maintains its broad dimensions in comparison to other noblechairs products, which allows it to easily accommodate large users.
The chair's height is adjustable, ranging from 129 to 137 cm (50.78–53.96 "). A lever under the right side of the seat's base is used for these height adjustment.
Just like the backrest, the seat's base is reinforced with a steel frame to support users of up to 150 kg (330lb). In order for the seat's base to be comfortable but firm enough to keep such users in the right posture, stable cold foam is used, which helps evenly spread the user's weight across the seat. The Hero may not be a good choice for those who do not like such sturdy cushioning since its design goal is to mostly cater to large users who appreciate the comforts of a solid chair.
The PU upholstery is breathable because of a large number of perforations for climate regulation. We have been using products from the EPIC and ICON lines with the same type of upholstery and have yet to encounter sweating issues; in environments with climate control, at least.
The only reference to the company name on the seat's base is on its plastic bits.
The stitching is impeccable and adds to the elegant aesthetics of the chair. The blue thread is the only thing that adds color to the black PU upholstery of the Hero.
Armrests
The armrests are 4D, which makes them adjustable in height, depth, width, and angle over three buttons on the sides of each armrest.
The armrests are made out of PU and have enough padding to be soft to the touch. Additionally, their surface is not slippery smooth, which means your arms won't just suddenly slide off for no reason. The distance between these armrests is also adjustable, ranging from 66 to 69 cm (25.98–27.16 "). Three bolts under the seat's base regulate the distance between armrests, and both are broad with a width of 10.5 cm (4.13") and a depth of 27 cm (10.62").
Hydraulics
The Hero, like every noblechairs chair, utilizes a hydraulic class 4 metal gas lift that is responsible for all height adjustments and capable of supporting users of up to 150 kg (330 lb). Height adjustments and the rocking mechanism function properly, as expected. The dust-cover shroud consists of a thin plastic layer and protects the gas lift from picking up dust.
Five-Star Base and Caster Wheels
The five-star base is made out of solid aluminium, which is a light material that is resistant to corrosion and rusting. It has a black powder-coated finish.
The 60 mm caster wheels have Nylon cores and are polyurethane coated, which makes for an easy, silent glide.
Despite the fact that the Hero is equipped with an embedded, adjustable lumbar-support system, which offers the comforts one would expect of such a system to both the back and pelvis area, noblechairs supplies this chair with two complimentary cushions. Both cushions are covered in a black velour fabric that is really soft to the touch.
The neck-support cushion is the smallest and consists of memory foam. It has straps that secure it around the headrest.
The lumbar support cushion is comfortable, but has no straps, which means it is used as you would a couch cushion, by tossing it on to the seat's base and moving it up against the backrest.
Both cushions are embroidered with the noblechairs name and logo and feature the same blue stitching as the rest of the chair.
The Hero has another major advantage apart from its integrated lumbar-support system: it can be paired with a footrest in the matching color, although not all colors are available. The footrest comes with PU vegan faux pleather or real leather and uses high-density cold foam.
The footrest supports up to 60 kg (132.27 lb) and only weighs 5 kg (11.023 lb). It is 49 cm (19.29") wide and 39.5 cm (15.55") long, and comes in at 43.5 cm (17.12") off the floor. The footrest also has the ability to swivel 360˚ degrees and inclines by up to 57° to promote blood circulation and support the natural curvature. The aluminium four-star base has rubber absorbers, which make the footrest stable and quiet even when moved around.
There is a silver emblem with the company's logo on one of the four-star legs.
