Design and Dimensions

The design reminds me of the bucket seats inside the extravagant Force 1 V10, which I would love to drive at some point. It looks lavish, and I can imagine it in both a working environment and gaming room, especially with the DIN EN 1335 and ANSI/BIFMA X5.1 2011 certifications for office chairs. There is ample space for the stated 150 kg (330 lb) weight limit, and the chair's entire surface can be used since its contoured edges protrude only slightly.

The backrest is 86 cm (33.9 in.) tall and 39 cm (15.4 in.) wide at the shoulders. Its inner width is 20 cm (11.4 in.) and outer width 52 cm (20.5 in.). The base of the seat is also broad, its inner surface 33 cm (13 in.) and outer surface 52 cm (20.5 in.). While 57 cm (22.4 in.) deep, attaching the backrest decreases the depth to 49 cm (19.3 in.). Most noblechairs models have a hard cushioning mainly because it keeps its shape longer and is more comfortable for large users. However, I find slightly less stiff cushioning more comfortable, and the ICON series uses medium to hard cushioning, which is why I like them better.

Adjustments

The ICON TX has such standard ergonomic features as height adjustment. A lever under the right side of the seat is used to adjust the height from 128 cm (50.39 in.) to 138 cm (54.33 in.).

Another lever with the noblechairs logo and name on the same side adjusts the backrest recline from 90° to 135°.

Under the left side of the seat is another lever that locks and unlocks the rocking mechanism with an ability to tilt up to 11°.

Catering to different needs and use cases, noblechairs included the ability to adjust the resistance of the rocking mechanism or lock it in place at an angle with a knob found under the front of the seat.

Details

To secure the backrest to the metal brackets of the base, two plastic covers with a bolt each are used. With noblechairs including all sorts of details, such as their engraved logo on these plastic bits, the two at a distance readily visible bolts lessen the stylish appearance of the ICON TX.

In fact, branding has been put on this chair in several places; the more obvious of these are the immaculate embroidered logos with gunmetal/anthrax threading on the headrest and black metal plate with silver lettering on the backrest.

The stitching detail is evident, and precise.

Upholstery

An abundance of upholstery materials, color options, and embroidered designs are available, with each carrying a different price tag. The ICON TX Fabric is only available in the anthracite color we have here, however. That having been said, it looks elegant and classy.

It feels like velour to the touch, but is a German-made fleece fabric that is breathable and easy to clean with a mild detergent for upholsteries or even wet tissues.

Build Quality

Both in and out, the ICON TX is machine-assembled as with cars and other precision machinery manufactured with robotic arms. For a high-quality result, Its fabric and other parts, such as the frame, arms, and base, are made using industrial machinery. Moreover, the upholstery is low maintenance and UV and moisture-resistant, which are excellent, original features.

The base of the seat is reinforced with two steel bars and three elastic bands for extra support and comfort. The metal rings securing the fabric to the base frame of the seat are also precisely placed.

Inner Cushioning and Frame

The breathable, deformation-resistant cold foam making up the inner cushioning is softer than it sounds, but rigid enough to maintain its shape for a long time. I believe one of the reasons the cushioning feels softer is the fabric upholstery.

A solid steel frame under the cold foam cushioning reinforces its firm and stable structure and makes the ICON TX a safe and comfortable choice for end users weighing up to 150 kg (330 lb).

Armrests

The armrests are 4D and manufactured from soft polyurethane. A lightly polished line runs down the middle, but the upper and lower parts are a bit coarse to keep your arms in a steady position and from slipping off. Both armrests have three buttons for adjustments. The external button is for height adjustments, the one integrated into each armrest for clockwise back/forth movement, and the one under and outside of each armrest for sliding inside/outside movement.

Neck and Lumbar-Support Pillows

For additional, optional neck and lumbar support, two velvety black cushions have been included. Both pillows consist of memory foam and are embroidered with the noblechairs logo in gunmetal. Both cushions have straps that are fastened around the backrest.

Gas Lift, Five Star Base and Casters

A TÜV-Certified Safety Class 4 gas lift is responsible for all height adjustments

The matte black powder-coated five-star base is made out of solid aluminium to support users with a weight of up to 150 kg (330 lb). It being very stable allows for the chair tilt of up to 135°, and it swivels 360°. Lastly, the five 60 mm (2.36 in.) casters have nylon cores and a polyurethane (PU) coating.
