Installation

Installing the NH-U12A is quite simple, much like all Noctua coolers. First, you need to position the backplate on the motherboard, before sliding the proper spacers on from the other side. With the spacers in place, you can position and secure the mounting arms needed to attach the cooler.


Now, apply some thermal paste and secure the cooler to the board.


With the heatsink secured, you can now attach the fans and plug them into the CPU fan header.

Installation was pretty painless, and I would rate it a 10 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest). The cooler is manageable in size, which further facilitates installation when paired with such a solid mounting system.
