A Closer Look
The first thing you will notice about the OrigenAE T12 is the overall construction quality. Even though it is only 12 inches big, it weighs more than most 17 or 19 inch LCDs. The unit is constructed of thick aluminum pieces, which are held together by four large and clearly visible screws.
The rear of the unit looks just like a small LCD screen. The stand is made of Aluminum as well and it can be removed, if you wish to mount the display on the wall. OrigenAE has provided VESA 75 mounting holes for such a purpose. There is a large OrigenAE logo on the back, below which is the plug for the umbilical cord.
The T12 is fairly thin, so even if you mount it on the wall, it should not be in the way. The display could be even thinner, but it has a few extras, which require the extra depth.
One of these features are the two USB 2.0 ports on top of the unit. This gives you the ability to connect a mouse, keyboard, USB drive or similar device to the unit, so you will never have to get up and go to the HTPC. The ports underline the fact, that you could have a standard, beige tower hidden away somewhere instead of going for an expensive HTPC with a display. On the underside of the T12 are various buttons. The smaller ones control the on screen menu, while the large one is the power button.
