You can also use some of the features of a TS-451+ NAS through your smart phone. QNAP and several third party developers have built some rather interesting applications for both popular operating systems (for mobile phones), Android and iOS.

QMobile

This application gives you remote access to any multimedia content on the NAS and allows you to share such content with your family and friends via an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. It is free and is also available for Android devices.

VMobile is, according to QNAP, this application's creator, a, by connecting it to VioStor NVR, mobile video surveillance application for remotely and wirelessly monitoring IP cameras and their video playback on your Android/Apple phone or iPad.
