Virtualization Station
QNAP's
Virtualization Station enables virtualized desktop operations on the NAS, which allows it to manage multiple virtual machines. A very intuitive interface allows you to easily manage all virtual machines created on the NAS.
QTS' web-based interface can run Virtualization Station, so you could use normal PC clients and tablets to operate multiple virtual machines for various operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, or UNIX.
You can also import or export VMs, but one of two available network interfaces will in such a scenario be dedicated to these VMs, so you can't make use of VMs and LACP at the same time.
Use these options to set various Virtualization Station preferences.
Here are the steps for creating a VM. With only 1 GB of memory, we couldn't quite create one since the Virtualization Station requires a minimum of 2 GB to do so. However, after a conversation with QNAP, they agreed to send us a 4 GB SO-DIMM, so we will show you how to install a VM on the next page.
This menu gives you access to various VM settings.
