Rosewill Fortress 750 W Review

A Look Inside & Component Analysis »

Packaging

This PSU comes in a small box with a glossy finish. On its face is a photograph of the unit with the fan exposed, and near the bottom-left corner are two large badges for the unit's 80 Plus Platinum efficiency and seven year warranty.

There is a plastic handle on top of the box.

The PSU series is displayed on this side.

On the rear of the package are a features list, a table of all available connectors for the Fortress line of units, and each unit's power specifications table. The rear side's design is, as such, obviously the same for all members of the series.

Contents

The PSU is well protected and comes wrapped in plastic.

The bundle includes two sets of screws, of which one is a thumbscrews, several zip ties, a single Velcro strap, an AC power cord, and a user's manual.

Exterior

The finish is matte and of pretty good quality. We highly prefer a matte instead of glossy finish because it is fingerprint proof. At the front are the small on/off switch and the AC receptacle, below it, or, if you install the PSU with the fan facing the other way, above it. The exhaust vent uses the classic honeycomb design.

Rosewill put a nice Fortress logo on both sides, with the unit's specifications label on the bottom.

On the back is a small vent, and a grommet around the cable-exit hole protects all affixed cables from the hole's edge.

The unit is small, which will prove useful during its installation, although its affixed cables will also make it more difficult.

The cables don't adhere to today's norm as they are neither all-black nor flat.

Sleeving quality is as it should be for the price range. Nothing too fancy, it isn't bad either unless you are an avid modder who sleeves cables, which you would probably do regardless of quality.
