Packaging & Contents

The hard drive enclosure, which can only really be identified by its model name RDEE-12002, ships in a compact, fully colored cardboard box. The front has an image of the device, while the back goes into detail about the functionality of the enclosure. You will also find a list of features in English, French, and Spanish here.

Rosewill only includes the bare necessities with the RDEE-12002. You will receive the mandatory USB 3.0 cable, four screws to hold the hard drive in place, and a multilingual manual/installation guide.

A Closer Look

The exterior shell of the device is made of brushed aluminum. You will find the Rosewill logo on the upside of the RDEE-12002, while the underside only holds two stickers—one with a serial number and the other to let you know that the unit passed quality control.

The front has two sliding locks that hold the entire contraption together. The rear has the USB 3.0 connector, a green activity LED, and a plug to feed it power directly. The power plug is a bit out of place as USB 3.0 is more than capable of supplying enough juice, and Rosewill does not include anything like a power brick or special USB cable to feed it any power in the first place.
