Installation

To install the Sharkhan APEX 240, the first thing that needs to be done is to attach the mounting brackets or clips to the pump housing with the four included screws.

Next, position the backplate on the motherboard; note that no adhesive was applied to our backplate, so it has to be held in place by hand for the short term, or with a piece of tape. Once you have sorted out the backplate, it's time to apply the thermal paste and mount the pump to the CPU. With that having been said, future batches will have double-sided tape on the backplate, so the issue I encountered is due to it being an early sample.

All that remains is to mount the radiator and fans and connect all the wiring.

Overall, I would rate my installation of the Sharkhan APEX 240 a 5 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest). In general, mounting the cooler is straightforward. However, the lack of adhesive on the backplate resulted in it being a bit troublesome, but Sharkhan is aware of the issue and has already taken the steps necessary to resolve it. With the new backplates, I would rate the installation an 8 out of 10.
