A Closer Look
Overall, the heatsink has a very straightforward design as it is a standard single-tower cooler with U-shaped heat pipes. A cut out in the center front of the fins allows for the wires of the RGB LEDs in the top plate to be run without interfering with the fan blades.
The heatsink itself is comprised of 41 aluminium fins with some rather benign cut outs for improved clearances. Heat is transferred to the fins via four heat pipes.
The top plate is screwed in place and looks quite nice with only minimal accents for the lighting on top, while the sides are open for improved light distribution. As for the heat pipes and base, the cooler uses (DTH) Direct Touch Heat pipes, which has the four heat pipes make up the base and directly touch the CPU IHS. The fit and finish of the base are quite good. Machining marks are barely visible on my sample. This gives the cooler a clean, smooth, and reflective base, which, while not a mirror finish, is still far better than I had anticipated considering the cooler's $30 price point.
