Software
The software for the Light² 100 is virtually identical with the Light² 200 software. All settings are accessible through five different tabs: Button remapping (keyboard, mouse, and media functions), CPI adjustment (200–5000 CPI in increments of 100, up to seven levels), illumination, and macros. Polling rate adjustment is done by using the slider at the bottom of the mouse (125/500/1000 Hz). Lastly, profile management is available as well. On my system, the software had a RAM footprint of 16 MB on average.
Lighting
The Light² 100 has three zones for RGB lighting in total, which are the scroll wheel, logo, and underside LED strip at the back. Through the software, it is possible to select from among nine available pre-defined lighting effects. These are Pulsating RGB Cycle (default), Pulsating, Permanent, Color Change (multi-color transition), Single Color Marquee (single-color wave effect), Multi Color Marquee (multi-color wave effect), Ripple Effect, Trigger, and Heartbeat (single-color pulse). It's possible to set custom colors and adjust brightness and transition speed. Of course, disabling the lighting altogether is also possible.
Color accuracy and vibrancy are excellent throughout. Here's a short demonstration video of the default "Pulsating RGB Cycle" effect, as well as the "Multi Color Marquee" and "Ripple" lighting effects:
