Installation
To install the Grandis 2 XE1436, first prepare the backplate for your particular system. Once done, simply put it in place on the motherboard.
Next, slide the plastic standoffs onto the backplate screws to then secure the mounting arms in place on top. With that done, apply some thermal paste.
At this stage, secure the heatsink to the motherboard and install the fans. Once that is done, just plug in the fans and you are good to go.
The mounting hardware is alright; the fact that it uses a spanner to secure the mounting arms rather than simple Phillips-head thumb screws feels a bit archaic. That said, it was not difficult to install. However, the mounting hardware could still be improved. In terms of difficulty, I would rate its installation an 8 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest).
