SilverStone Alta F2 Review

Packaging

Just like the Alta F1, the F2 ships in a massive box with plastic clips which you have to remove to pull off the top packaging. On the larger panels, there is a simple image of the chassis, while both sides go into details  of the specifications and features in multiple languages.

Pulling the cover off, you are left with cardboard reinforced foam pieces which hold the chassis in place securely. A plastic bag has been used to further protect the Alta F2 from scratches. On top of that, there is a large accessories box shimmed into the side of the package.

Contents

Within that accessories package, there is a very long PCIe 4.0 ribbon cable, which is necessary to allow for the various placement opportunities of your graphics card within the chassis. It uses Velcro straps to bundle the flat-band components together so that you may twist it easily and get the connectors situated properly.

On top of that, SilverStone includes a mounting bracket for smaller fans instead of the large Air Penetrators on the floor of the chassis on top of several other metal components. These range from a PSU mounting frame enabling dual PSU support to GPU support structures. Last, but not least, you get an assortment of screws, a large number of zip ties, a fan splitter adapter cable and a few other small spare parts. For a $1000 chassis, SilverStone could have included a nicer plastic box to sort these screws into - which is something other brands do with enclosures in a similar position of their product stacks.
