Out of the package, the SilverStone SUGO 16 feels quite good because of the full metal construction. It is compact and nearly cube-shaped. Thus, it is wider than most SFF enclosures but shorter as well. This translates into better air-cooler support in combination with less space for long GPUs. The case is available in all black or, as with our sample, white with some black elements.

The front of the chassis has a uniquely designed air vent with the SilverStone brand on the top left. In the rear, the classic motherboard layout is flipped on its head, so the expansion slots are at the top edge. While this is fine for assembly, it will be detrimental for thermals as any GPU will block the top vent and heat from the components below may get trapped.

The side facing away from the motherboard also comes with the same stylized vent. Both it and the front look really cool, but are a bit restrictive when it comes to airflow. Turning the case over, you will find a solid panel there. Two big thumb screws securely hold each of these covers in place.

You may pull the metal front cover off with a firm tug. It is lined with a black metal mesh dust filter on the inside. Behind the cover is a very unique-looking layout that includes the PSU bay and an area for a fan or storage.

On the bottom left, the vented area allows for a single 80, 92 or 120 mm intake fan. Alternatively, you may also mount a single 2.5 or 3.5" here. To the right is a compact PSU opening for either an SFX/SFX-L or ATX unit. At the top is a large cutout so that you may feed your GPU in through this side and also have space to run the internal PSU power cable to the plug in the back.

In the rear is another vent for a 120 mm fan with elongated mounting holes. This is also where you could install an AIO of the same size, which we will do using the SilverStone PF120. The cord for the internally mounted power supply exits through the top-left corner of the rear. This is to the right of the two expansion slots with black reusable covers.

The top of the case is covered in a black, magnetic dust filter that will keep dirt and grime out of the chassis. Even though this vent will usually stay covered, SilverStone put a focus on design instead of maximizing venting here as well. The SUGO 16 provides two USB 3.0 ports, a combo audio jack, and the usual power and reset buttons.

The underside is a solid metal panel. You get to stick the feet onto this case any way you like, which would be useful if you had the choice to flip the chassis over. As this is not something the SUGO 16 offers, not pre-applying these is just a cost-saving measure.
