Streacom DA2 Review - What a Beautiful SFF Case

Out of the box, the Streacom DA2 in its black variant looks absolutely clean. Its design is meant to be as understated as possible, so the front, top, and underside consist of a single bent aluminium piece.

Looking at the front, this means you will not find any gaps anywhere, which makes it look absolutely beautiful. The whole I/O panel is framed in an additional aluminium piece with rounded ends. While the USB-C is pretty traditional, the power button is this beautiful, smooth black piece with a tiny white power LED in the center of it. Overall, it reminds me a little bit of HAL-9000 in Space Odyssey.

Looking at the rear of the chassis, the layout is pretty traditional for an ITX enclosure. In the bottom are two expansion slots which are held in place by two screws that are tightened into a solid block from the opposite side we are used to. Above that you will find the ability to install a 92 mm exhaust fan.

Both sides of the chassis are made out of aluminium with big air vents drilled into them. ITX cases really need this type of airflow to allow for temperatures and thus noise to stay as low as possible. The panels are held in place by tension with little rubber pats, which is an absolutely unique yet functional approach.

On the underside, two rubber pads ensure the Streacom DA2 stays in place securely and no vibrations are passed between system and working surface.
