Tuniq TX-2 Thermal Compound Review

Installation

The TX-2 compound does not have a recommended installation method on the Tuniq website. The compound was applied in the same manner as the TX-1 (which was derived in the installation instructions for the Tuniq Tower heatsink), which is by applying the compound in a thin layer by spreading it with a razor blade. The TX-2 was easy to spread and easy to clean up.

On the other hand, the TX-1 compound was very difficult to spread and to get a consistent layer. It was also slightly more difficult to clean off the heatsink and the CPU heatspreader.

The system being used to test the compounds is as follows:
CPU:Intel Core2Duo E6400
Clock speed:8 x 266 MHz = 2.13 GHz
Motherboard:Asus P5W DH Deluxe
Memory:2 x 1GB G.Skill F2-6400CL4D-2GBHK (DDR2-800)
Video Card:Gigabyte nv6200TC PCI-e
Harddisk:36GB WD Raptor
Power Supply:Thermaltake ToughPower 750W
Software:Windows XP Pro SP2
