Exterior

The DX513's external design is the same as with the DS1515+, and it will be very difficult to distinguish between the two unless you examine them closely.


One of two sides comes with Synology's punched-out logo.


There is also a service port; both the DS1815+ and DS1515+ have one.


There is only an eSATA port in the rear, there to connect to a compatible Synology expansion unit.


The DX513 uses the same trays as the DS1515+, and we would also like these to be out of metal instead of plastic. They might be out of quality plastic but metallic trays are better suited to business environments.
