Application Settings
You can set application privileges through these options.
The Application Portal allows you to configure every application's connection settings, which gives you the ability to run the application in an independent browser window without logging into DSM. These connection settings include customizing portal aliases and HTTP or HTTPS ports.
The Syslog client, which can be enabled and configured here, allows you to send logs to another Syslog server over the Internet. Having a Syslog server gives an IT administrator effortless monitoring capabilities and a status overview of all network devices via one interface for an immediate response to a problem or malfunction.
DSM supports PPTP and OpenVPM connections.
The NAS's media indexing service automatically scans for multimedia files stored on it and indexes them. You can set the thumbnail quality and monitor its conversion progress.
The Network Backup option allows you to back data up to the NetBackup folder on another Synology NAS, or an rsync-compatible server.
You can schedule a rich variety of tasks through the Task Scheduler.
