Output Noise

We used a CEM-8852 Sound DB Meter we installed 50 cm away from the NAS for these measurements. Ambient noise in our lab was below 30 dBA while these noise measurements were taken.



Noise output is higher than with similarly spec'd NAS servers because of the trio of small diameter fans and the unit's restricted height, which doesn't allow for optimal airflow. You won't be able to hear the RS816 in a business environment despite all of that, especially if it is installed into a closed rack.
