Packaging

The packaging for the Phantom Spirit 120 EVO is not overly crazy when it comes to colors or design, but it does get the point across. Looking at the front you have an image of the cooler along with a note that it supports Intel's LGA1700, and AMD's AM5 sockets. There is also a logo denoting that it uses AGHP Gen 4 heatpipes (anti-gravity heat pipes). Turning to the left side there is nothing to really see. Turning to the back has the listed specification and sockets clearly listed out and that includes the three-year warranty, which I am always happy to see clearly printed on the box.

The right side is the same as the left. Meanwhile, the top and bottom offer a bit more substance, that is to say the top offers a quick list of features and the bottom has the product name and company logo clearly displayed. Overall the packaging isn't barebones, but it's not throwing everything but the kitchen sink at you either.

Contents

The cooler comes encased in foam for added protection, and it did a good job since the box looked like it had seen a few bumps during shipping.

The cooler has solid socket support in that any semi modern mainstream Intel or AMD socket is supported out of the box. It even offers support for some of Intel's older HEDT sockets, namely LGA2011 and LGA2066. AMD Threadripper systems are not as lucky, but that's not surprising all things considered. What is worthy of note is the simplicity of the mounting hardware which should greatly simplify the mounting process.

Common parts supplied for mounting include:
  • 4x AMD backplate screws
  • 4x AMD Spacers
  • 4x Tightening nuts
  • 4x Intel LGA115x/LGA1200 screw bolts
  • 4x Intel LGA1700 screw bolts
  • 4x Intel LGA2066/2011 screws
  • 2x Intel mounting plates
  • 2x AMD mounting plates
  • 2x 120 x 25 mm fans
  • 1x Intel backplate
  • 1x Heatsink
  • 1x Tube of thermal paste
  • 1x-PWM fan splitter cable
  • 1x Instruction manual
