With the case out of the box the first thing that comes to mind while looking at it is quality. Physically, the LM300 is as solid as they come featuring thick aluminum everywhere. Nothing here is painted or made to look like aluminum, everything is made out of aluminum and where need be, is anodized black for aesthetic purposes.

The top of the Luxa² case stays simple and elegant with a brushed aluminum grain and the company's logo featured prominently in the center. The bottom is black aluminum which has vents up front to pull in cool air. There are four rubber mounted feet to keep the case firmly seated and allow air to enter the bottom vent.

Turning our attention to the front, the area to the left has the illuminated power button, a HDD activity light and the IR receiver for the remote. The center area houses the 1024x768 LCD touchscreen with the optical drive opening just above it. To the right side is the volume knob which is also made of aluminum and a nice quality detail. Below the know are buttons to help navigate through the media player. Luxa² put a lot of thought into this design which offers several different ways to navigate through the media center.

The lower portion of the front is reserved for the front I/O inputs as well as various removable storage media. When the lower panel is pushed open, it slowly and smoothly opens almost hydraulically like you find on many high-end stereo receivers.

Moving around to the back we have the power supply opening which houses a full sized PSU. In the center is the 120mm fan which pulls air from the front/bottom vent and exhausts warm air out of the case. Below the fan is the area for the rear I/O panel. To the left are the seven expansion slots with one slot dedicated to the VGA input connector for the front LCD screen.
