TOPPING L50 Amp: Packaging and Accessories

The TOPPING L50 showed up before the E50, and even made a sneak preview in my HIFIMAN Arya review, which all happened chronologically before the unboxing of the E50 itself. Regardless, we see more of the same with a similar white cardboard box that has the TOPPING logo up front to go with the same Hi-Res Audio badge, TOPPING website, and contact information on the sides, and another sticker confirming that the L50 in black is inside. In fact, even the internal packaging is very similar, if not identical, with a foam sheet over the contents that come neatly packaged in foam compartments. There is even the same cutout that fit the remote control earlier, which is otherwise empty here.


As with the TOPPING E50, the L50 comes with a warranty card and user manual (online copy found here). This too comes with support for multiple languages, although the amplifier is inherently simpler in what it does, so you just need to be familiar with the connections on the front and back. Unlike the E50, however, there is a dedicated AC wall adapter to power the L50 amplifier. I have the UK version of the same with the relative big plug and housing, and we see it is a 15 V output that can provide up to 15 W of power to the amplifier.


Adding to my ever-growing collection of 3.5 mm to 1/4" (6.35 mm) adapters is another one from TOPPING, which is no different from others in being gold-plated and for headphones or earphones with a 3.5 mm cable connector to the TOPPING L50 that no doubt has a 1/4" output instead, as is the norm with most prosumer audio gear today. The L50, as with the E50, ships inside a wax paper wrap that has the TOPPING logo, which helps keep the L50 clean for your first hands-on experience.
