Packaging

The Iris Optical RGB comes in a Thermaltake eSPORTS color-schemed box. As one would except, the black and red colors are highly dominant. The front can be opened and you can see your new mouse through a transparent plastic cover there. The contents of this package are the mouse itself, a warranty policy flier, and an installation guide. No extra set of mousefeet unfortunately, and the cable is tied up into tight loops by default.

Shape

The shape is nice and safe—at least for people who use their mice with their right hand. It's a right-handed ergonomic shell with side buttons only on the left side. If you have ever seen or used a Zowie EC2, the similarities can be seen or felt instantly. There are many differences, of course, but generally speaking, it is quite similar. It's not very overdesigned, which is always a positive point in my book of features. There are no unnecessary ledges which could cause discomfort, and the curves are all great for picking up the mouse easily. The main buttons are separate from other parts of the shell and have some very slight grooving, but more on that later.

This mouse is mainly for palm grippers with medium hands, but this is entirely up to the user's personal preferences. I have 18 cm x 8.5 cm hands and was able to use this mouse very comfortably with a claw grip. I probably wouldn't recommend choosing this mouse for hands below 16 cm.

The Iris Optical RGB is 123 mm (4.84") long and 68.71 mm (2.70") wide at the widest part. The actual grip's width is at around 60 mm (2.36"), which is still relatively wide. This mouse doesn't have a very high profile; the tallest hump (which is located in the middle of the shell) is 41.13 mm (1.62") high.

Comparisons

Here are some shape/size comparisons with other mice:

Logitech MX500 (same shell as the MX510, MX518, G400, and G400s)

Cougar Minos X5

CM MasterMouse MM530 (same shell as the Alcor and Mizar)

Razer DeathAdder
