Packaging
v-color packaging is wildly "fabulous" with a mixture of glossy PCB circuitry on top of a matte black background and rainbow across the bottom. It is certainly interesting enough to grab the attention of someone passing by the shelf.
Flip the box around and v-color's mission statement takes up most of the back's real estate. Next to that is an easy-to-read sticker that details what is actually inside the box. In this case, it is a white v-color Manta XPrism series RGB SCC kit rated for 6200 MT/s. The only thing that stands out is the lack of information regarding officially supported RGB software.
Because this is a 2+2 kit, it comes with two RGB dummy DIMMs as well—essentially two boxes inside another box.
Opening these up was straightforward. Removing the memory from the box only requires cutting some tape. The memory sticks are secured and protected from minor damage with a clamshell inside the outer box. The only way to tell this part is the dummy kit is by the "RGB non dram" instead of the rated XMP profile.
