VidaBox's OpenSqueeze is a great little device as you can either use it as it comes straight out of the box or begin the tweaking by digging into the SqueezeLite side of it. The open-source nature of its OS also makes it an interesting little device for the more avid crowd, and its on-board hardware performs more than well enough for most stereo systems and can even power some headphones, although it sounds better when just the DAC is used.

At $318 and in a wireless age, it is pretty annoying when you get a brand-new device without wireless capability, but you can add wireless functionality via an adapter, although it would have been much better had it been integrated. If you already have a NAS that is capable of feeding the OpenSqueeze, it is pretty much a no-brainer if you are into music and want a DAC of good quality. VidaBox also sells quite a few NAS solutions which pair up nicely with the OpenSqueeze. For a music aficionado, it is as convenient as it gets.
