A Closer Look - Outside
The front of the vCase3 is a brushed aluminum plate that blends nicely with high end home theater receivers and amplifiers. The design is very simple and minimalistic without any flashy LCD or VFD displays or bright LEDs to distract you. There are two buttons near the left side of the front panel for power and reset. At the bottom of the front panel there is a flip down door that hides the two front panel USB ports along with the built in multimedia card reader which supports most cards in use today.
On each of the two sides of the case there are vents to allow for good airflow to internal components. On the left side there is an 80 mm intake fan for active hard disk cooling.
On the back panel there is an opening for a standard ATX power supply and typical I/O panel for supported motherboards. There are also four low profile pci slots for add-on cards such as video or a TV-Tuner. Ventilation is also found here on the back panel to keep the case free flowing and to prevent overheating in a situation where the case might be stacked with other media center devices such as receiver units and amplifiers.
Ventilation is also found on the top panel to allow the heat to vent directly out the top of the case. On the bottom of the case there are four feet that are very similar to ones found on other home theater equipment.
