Value and Conclusion

  • The Vizo Luxon Advanced does not have an official price tag yet. Some eTailers take preorders for around $79 US Dollars, but that price will most likely change as soon as the Luxon Advanced becomes available.
  • Very good USB 2.0 read and eSATA performance
  • Great USB 2.0 write performance
  • Free choice of type of drive and connectivity
  • Solid construction
  • Everything needed is included - even an eSATA bracket
  • Available in multiple colors
  • Well packaged
  • Not completely made of aluminum
  • IDE & SATA cables are just around 1m long.
  • Large power brick
  • Not screw-less installation
The Vizo Luxon Advanced enclosure does not only look great, with the rounded corners and two tone design, it can deliver where it counts. While the USB 2.0 read speeds are above average, the write performance is great. The user also has complete choice of internal and external connection, so no matter if a used IDE drive or a brand new SATA drive is to be used, you will be able to connect via USB 2.0 or eSATA. Vizo is the first company that has included an eSATA bracket. The only downside of the package would be the separate, old fashion and large power brick and short USB 2.0 and eSATA cables. The Vizo Luxon Advanced is a solid offering and is one of the most flexible enclosures available on the market today.
