Watercool is going relatively simple on packaging with no banderole on top of the base cardboard box. Instead, the product box gets adorned with printing directly on the cardboard, including a truncated logo, the product line, and a simplified but cool render of the GPU block on the front. Not a whole lot going on the back or sides unless you want confirmation this block was made in Germany. The GPU block compatibility is also clearly listed here and we also see a double flap helping keep the contents in place on their way to you.
Open the box to see a folded cardboard layer that informs you this is not a tool-less installation and that you also need to supply your own Torx TX8 screwdriver, which might be a bit much to ask of customers who usually don't have that lying around. There's also no printed manual in the box with the QR code alongside leading you to download a PDF on your phone instead. Then we get to the block itself in all its weighty glory, with a plastic wrap all around to help keep it dust-free. It lies on top of the accessories, with a cable tucked in the middle and the rest in two separate marked compartments.
The cable in question goes from a smaller 3-pin connector to a standard 3-pin, 5 V ARGB connector meaning we have universal RGB lighting support for the block. We get a lot of thermal pads with the Heatkiller V Pro and these also happen to be color coordinated to help identify the different thicknesses and applications. I also really, really appreciate that Watercool has pre-cut the pads which can be a chore otherwise for customers. The company also says these thermal pads were specifically selected after internal testing to best suit cooling of the otherwise hot-running GDDR6X VRAM modules. A tube of Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste is also included here in addition to just four each of metal screws and washers when it comes to mounting parts. Something tells me there is more going on with the block itself.
