Xigmatek’s product is like no other – it tries to combine the benefits of water and air cooling. It successfully eliminates the “mess” (some like to call it beauty) of water-cooling, and is quite light, which is ideal for those who wish to transport their PC a lot, for example to LAN parties. It does have some major drawbacks. Getting low temperatures that one would expect is not particularly "plug and play" – therefore, I cannot say that I can recommend the unit to novice users. Those skilled with computers should have no problem on the other hand.
When observing performance figures, we can see that the S80DP performs close to a Thermaltake Orchestra. Of course, it is louder - but then again, it doesn't take up as much space. A true water cooling system pulls away from the S80DP with no problems, but also occupies a lot of space. Does water really make this cooler stand out? Yes. Saying that you have a water cooled PC gives you the bragging rights you need infront of your friends. Those in the know will judge that it is no better than a Scythe Infinity, or similar tower cooler. The choice is up to you - either heatpipes or water.
