Shape

The shape of the M42 Wireless is entirely unchanged when compared to the wired version. On an aesthetic level, the RGB strip looping around the front is gone, but functionally, the mice are exactly the same. The user is still given the choice between two different back covers establishing a different hump curvature. While the height of the hump is identical between the two, the second one slopes down much steeper, whereas the default one results in a fuller rear end, filling the hand more. The front likewise slopes down rather aggressively, resulting in one's fingers sitting a bit lower compared to most other designs. Neither the front nor back flare out much, and the sides curve inward only to a moderate degree. Coupled with the subtle comfort grooves on the main buttons, the shape of the M42 creates an interesting dynamic between the front and back which lends itself particularly well to the claw grip style. As with the wired M42, holes have been applied liberally across the shell, extending to the bottom, top, sides, and even part of the main buttons. The holes are of the circular variety and adequately sized, to where they may be less irritating than more angular shapes.

As for grip styles, I'd say the M42 Wireless mostly suits claw and fingertip grip. It is a medium-sized mouse with a (depending on which back cover is installed) moderately or mildly pronounced hump, which should make it generally suit most hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the M42 Wireless very comfortable in claw grip.
