The drive uses the M.2 2280 form factor, which makes it 22 mm wide and 80 mm long.

SSD Interface Connector

Like most M.2 NVMe SSDs, the Zadak Spark RGB connects to the host system over a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 interface.

On the PCB, you'll find the controller, four flash chips, and two DRAM chips.

The preinstalled heatsink is large and of excellent quality. Unlike other SSDs, the heatsink is actually screwed on with two screws, which greatly improves contact and ensure it can't just fall off.

These little RGB LEDs are what drive the bling.

RGB Effects

Doesn't that look amazing? Motherboard, memory, and SSD all perfectly synchronized!

You can easily synchronize the Zadak Spark RGB effects with your motherboard. ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, and ASRock have support for the SSD in their software. It shows up as an additional RGB device that can be controlled independently of your other RGB circuitry.

Chip Component Analysis

SSD Controller

The flash controller is made by Phison and supports 3D TLC, QLC, and PCI-Express 3.0 x4. It uses eight flash channels and is produced on a 28 nm process at TSMC Taiwan.

SSD Flash Chips

The four flash chips are Micron 96-layer 3D TLC NAND.

SSD DRAM Chip

Two SKhynix DDR4-2400 chips provide a total of 1 GB of fast DRAM storage for the controller to store the mapping tables.
