The Zowie S2 Black did very well in my testing. Due to being medium-sized and having a fairly "safe" ambidextrous shape, it's well-suited for palm, claw, and fingertip grippers alike. In terms of features, the S2 is well-equipped: the sensor, which is PixArt's PMW3360, performed flawlessly in my testing. The combination of a still decent weight (~85 g), nicely gliding feet, grippy coating, and a rather flexible cable make the S2 a mouse that handles very well. A nice touch is the angled cable exit, which provides less surface friction. Clicks and buttons (of which there are five in total) are very nice overall, and I have no complaints when it comes to build quality and components. The ability to adjust the polling rate directly on the mouse is a welcome feature as well.

I also was happy to see several of the flaws previous Zowie mice series were plagued by largely resolved in the S series, especially for the side buttons. Unfortunately, the scroll wheel is still well below par, and although the lack of any software customizability may be part of Zowie's "competitive" brand image, I'd still prefer to have at least some degree of customization through optional software. Anyone not bothered by these minor grievances and willing to pay Zowie's rather steep asking price for a mouse without software or RGB functionality, however, will find the Zowie S2 to be an excellent choice.
