Zykon M1 Gamer Mouse Review

Software

As soon as the 8 cm CD is inserted the Installer launches. It is completely standard and installs quite quickly. Not much else to be said here. The software used for the Zykon M1 looks almost identical to the one supplied with the Ideazon Reaper Gaming mouse we reviewed.

The software itself is quite straight forward. Zykon opted for a clean look without any extra graphics or fancy effects. The only moving part is the lightning bolt which moves once you double click on it. The first panel holds all the button assignments. Two of these cannot be changed. The second tab contains the settings for the "Roller Menu". This is a small popup with set icons. It appears as soon as you press the assigned button. The default settings of the mouse actually do not use this feature, which means you need to assign it to a button of your choice first. The third tab is dedicated to the mouse wheel, where the type of scrolling and the speed can be set.

The "Move" tab holds the settings for the mouse cursor speed, which gives you the ability to slow down or speed up the actual speed of the mouse pointe, while the next functional tab is dedicated to the setup of the desired DPI function. The next tab is something you will not find in the software of the Ideaon Reaper, the Macro Feature gives you the choice of creating a keyboard macro. This can then be assigned to one of the available buttons.

All the way to the right you will also find a tab labeled "About" with an image, link to the website and software version information.
