Battlefield V RTX-on

Since Battlefield V is the first PC game to implement DirectX Raytracing (DXR), we tested the card with DXR Reflections enabled across various quality settings and resolutions. Over the coming weeks, we will fully integrate Battlefield V into our VGA test bench and test other graphics cards on it, too. On this particular page, we're only trying to present the impact of resolution and quality settings on frame-rates with this card. The numbers obtained below do not count towards the Performance Summary graph.

Turning on DXR, even at its lowest quality setting, inflicts a 27 percent performance penalty at 1080p, which swells to 31% at 1440p. At 4K Ultra HD, frame-rates dip below the 30 FPS comfort zone at all quality settings, so 4K really isn't an ideal resolution for this card. Interestingly, while the performance dips a further 17 percent (42 percent departure from DXR-off) as you go from "low" to "medium" settings, performance loss is only minor as you toggle between "medium" and "high." With DXR reflections quality set to high, the RTX 2060 still manages a comfortable 62 FPS at 1080p, and 47 FPS at 1440p, both of which are very much playable.
