In-game settings we used for our benchmarking are displayed on the previous page, with the only difference being that we used full-screen mode. NVIDIA Hairworks is turned off because it comes at a huge performance hit with very little benefit. We used the release version with Day 1 Patch.
Video RAM Usage
VRAM usage of modern titles is becoming more and more important these days. Consoles can now dedicate several gigabytes of their memory to graphics, so developers are keen to make as much use of it as possible.
As you can see, Witcher 3 is very modest in its VRAM requirements, which is quite surprising given how beautiful the graphics are. To me this looks like good coding, so users with 2 GB cards will not have to worry at all.
