Forest Environment Revealed in Latest "Sand Land" Trailer

Bandai Namco has released a new action-packed trailer revealing the existence of Forest Land! This new world and characters have been imagined by creator Akira Toriyama specifically for the video game and animated series, expanding the world of Sand Land with new adventures. Beyond the dunes and the scorching desert sun, lies a lush and green nation called Forest Land. Although peaceful at first glance, this place is governed by a ferocious army opposing Sand Land. Leading this force is Muniel, fearsome despite his childlike features, he is determined to save his land by getting his hands on a supply of Aquanium, a powerful but dangerous resource, and he will not back down without a fight.

This is another challenge for Beelzebub, his friends and his new allies, promising a handful of explosive battles against each of the Forest Land's army generals. Supported by Ann, players will be able to count on her courage in battle and her excellent mechanical skills to make their vehicle more efficient and powerful. Sand Land is set to release on 26th April 2024 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC. A demo is available now on all platforms to take your first steps in Sand Land.
The journey continues beyond the dunes of Sand Land with a new original story from Akira Toriyama!

Explore the open world of Forest Land when you play SAND LAND, out April 26.

Its like an alternate universe DBZ but instead of looking for dragon balls. They look for aquainium.

Also recognising some of the voice actors who worked on the DBZ anime aswell.

Graphics' style looks good.
DBZ is a neat setting but, I'm none-too-sure about Sand Land.
'Lil too edgy of a premise but, I respect that Japanese culture views supernatural entities a bit different than Western Norms.

They have a Dabura In the trailer at 1:30.

They also have a Jimmy Firecracker but as a soldier instead of a reporter at 1:20

Ignoring the fact that Akira Toriyama is the creator of DBZ. Im not sure how Sand Land connects to the DBZ universe as a whole but it obviously does in some way otherwise the DBZ characters wouldnt be there.

Akira is also the guy behind the Dragon Quest franchise as well. Not played that game so I cant tell you if any of it is tied in to the DBZ universe but I would assume so or there has to be a quite a few nods and references to DBZ somewhere in there.

::EDIT::

Also. lead character...

::EDIT 2::

While on the topic of Dragon Quest.

Bianca throwing a hamekameha

Angelo -- Looks like trunks and also carries a sword. Trunks likes swords

I mean there are more references but im lazy,

:EDIT 3:

I also like trunks. So have some more trunks

The anime is on Hulu, and looks very kid-friendly / happy go lucky as far as a setting goes.

Yeah, its nominally post-apocalyptic. But the Prince of Demons is really wholesome, as is Sheriff (erm... whatever his name was). I mean, Sheriff has seen some bad crap, so he's the jaded, wise silent type. But you get a good feeling that he's trying to make the best for the town he's in charge of protecting.

-----------

The overall story was feeling far closer to "Journey to the West" than I was expecting (which also inspired Dragonball's plot, more obviously as the famous "Monkey King" of Journey to the West has "Son Goku" as a name in Japan's translation of that story).

EDIT: Woah, this trailer is not like the anime, lol. Aside from the Prince of Demons coexisting in both plots, I don't think they're very much related....

EDIT2: I'm reading the webpage and it looks like "Forest Land" is likely some kind of sequel to Sand Land. Which makes sense, I guess there's a lot more water out there than they expected, but they needed to venture far enough through the Sandy areas before they got there??? I guess Sheriff heads back home once he finds water, and the Demon Prince explores deeper into the Forest instead?
